When online shopping exploded in the 2010’s, businesses scrambled to create websites to sell their products. At the end of the decennial, nearly every major brand was marketing themselves on the internet. Today, in 2021, the tide of the trade is turning yet again as social commerce becomes one of the most popular ways to make money online.

Selling goods and services via social networking such as Instagram or Facebook is a go-to strategy for growing your business online right now. 60% of people say they find out about new products on Instagram, with more than 200 million Instagrammers visiting at least one business profile per day. And this is just one platform.

As the number of Linktree users grow, so do the businesses and independent creators using social commerce. That’s why we’re making it easier than ever for people to shop directly on Linktree. Linktree has teamed up with popular commerce platform Spring (formerly TeeSpring) to create mini storefronts on Linktree profiles for in-app shopping.

This digitized window-shopping experience lets users browse your Spring store without leaving your profile. Linktree users have the ability to embed up to six items from their Spring stores right on their Linktree profiles. From there, your followers can browse the selection on Linktree, hovering over items to see more information like product name and localized pricing, before clicking through to the Spring store to purchase or see more. This creates a frictionless, quicker path to purchase that converts your online audience into customers.

Spring stores with six or more products will be displayed as a carousel while stores with five or less products will be displayed as a grid. So whether you’re running a big retail brand or a creator just starting a side hustle, you can customize your virtual storefront based on merchandise and inventory. This is easily customizable in the Linktree app and so easy to set up.

Having a shopping experience on your Linktree is a surefire way to increase user engagement, monetize your brand, and drive traffic to your store. If you don’t have a store, sign up for Spring! As the leading creator commerce platform, Spring says they have seen more than 30 creators become millionaires as a result of selling on their platform with new creator growth growing 135% since 2020.

“We’re focused on giving Linktree users new avenues to convert their online audience into customers,” says Linktree CEO Alex Zaccaria. “Spring is a leader in removing barriers for creators to quickly and easily launch a high quality commerce presence, and so we’re thrilled to partner with them on the first of many initiatives to make monetization smoother for creators.”

Once you create a Spring store, setting up your shop on Linktree is free and easy. Simply follow these steps to start building your social commerce journey:

      1. Log into your Linktree Admin
      2. Click ‘Add New Link Type’ and give your new link a ‘Title’, such as My Spring Store
      3. Paste your Spring URL. Note: If you use a custom domain for your store, make sure you use your original Spring store URL which is found on the Linktree integration page within your Spring dashboard.
      4. You will see a new thumbnail appear under your store URL
      5. Select ‘Show my shop on my Linktree’ to embed your items. If you want to link off to your store, you can select ‘Link off to my shop.’
      6. Enter a description that will be placed above your products

The first items that appear in the carousel will be the first items that are found in your Spring store. If you want specific items to appear in your Linktree, you will need to rearrange and ‘star’ them in the store’s tab of your Spring dashboard.

And then you should be all set to start selling!
