TikTok Star Charli D'Amelio Linktree

Before Charli D’Amelio became the most followed person on TikTok, she was a 15 year old high school sophomore living in Connecticut, filming dance videos on her phone and posting them to Instagram. In July 2019, three months after downloading the short-form video app, TikTok, D’Amelio posted a choreographed dance video that went completely viral. Then she did it again, and soon A year and a half and a handful of viral posts later, D’Amelio hit 100 million followers, and was the first person on TikTok to do so.

After achieving this milestone, D’Amelio filmed a “thank you” video in which she credits her fans and TikTok for their support. She announced that TikTok had awarded her $100,000, which she planned to donate to the American Dance Movement in the form of grants to 10 national dance schools throughout the country.

“If you know me, you know that I’ve been dancing my entire life and I am so thankful to give back to the community that made me the person that I am,” D’Amelio said on the video, which has more than 9 million views.

Just as Charli D’Amelio used her success to help other dancers, she is giving back again, this time with Linktree for a new initiative to support the creator community. D’Amelio, along with fellow TikTok superstars Bella Poarch, Benji Krol, Canon Ryder, Flossybaby, Josh Richards, Kallmekris, and Noah Beck, are all part of Linktree’s newest campaign, #LinkUpWithLinktree.

If you are one of the 800 million TikTok users with similar growth goals, you know it takes more than a favorable algorithm to be successful. With #LinkUpWithLinktree, powerful influencers will shine a light on TikTok up and comers they believe should be seen and heard.

Similar to TikTok, Linktree is used to discover people, brands, and businesses. While existing as two very different platforms (TikTok is an app, Linktree is a tool), they share a purpose of highlighting creators. Linktree allows you to create a personalized and easily-customizable page that houses all the important links you want to share with your audience. It is used on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, or you can use it to aid discovery of your work, brand, for business. Even TikTok has a Linktree!

How #LinkUpWithLinktree works:

  • TikTok stars will highlight two or more of their favorite TikTok accounts on their Linktree and leave two additional spots open. These extra spots, labeled #LinkUpWithLinktree, are up for grabs for creators like you.
  • Influencers will post a TikTok video about their Linktree for fans
  • TikTok users can comment on these posts with their or their favorite creator’s Linktree URL
  • Each influencer will read the comments and select two winners to follow on TikTok and feature on their Linktree for one month (that’s a lot of TikTok eyes!).
  • Winners are chosen based on merit: they are the creators whom the influencer believes should be seen, followed, and supported.

Campaign Timeline:

July 14-16: Influencers will announce the campaign with kickoff videos
July 16-21: TikTok users comment on kickoff videos with their Linktree
July 22: Winners are announced and put on Influencers’ Linktrees, where they will remain for a whole month
