CTO, CPO and CMO Join Linktree to Drive Growth and Innovation

Linktree is a product-led organization, and has been since day one, focused on growing and innovating our offerings to meet the needs of the millions of linkers who rely on Linktree every single day. This is why when we started our search for seasoned executives to lead our product, engineering and marketing organizations, we took our time to meet with a myriad of talented and experienced leaders. What got us here, won’t necessarily get us to where we are going and I’m grateful that we found three heavyweights in their fields to help me lead Linktree into our next chapter of growth. I am incredibly excited to share that Farnaz Azmoodeh has joined Linktree as Chief Technology Officer; Sam Rogoway has joined as our first Chief Product Officer; and Monica Austin has joined as our first Chief Marketing Officer. All three are reporting directly to me and are key members of my executive leadership team.

 Farnaz Azmoodeh, Chief Technology Officer

Farnaz Azmoodeh

Farnaz is a powerhouse technologist with over two decades of experience in leadership positions at some of the world’s biggest and most impactful technology companies. Farnaz joins Linktree from Snap, Inc. where she most recently served as VP of Engineering. During her time at Snap, Farnaz led Snap’s AR monetization org before creating Snap’s Platform Engineering initiative, consisting of engineers and data scientists. Her function consolidated disjointed engineering initiatives to solve specialized problems that empowered Snap’s 2000+ engineers to scale-up. Farnaz’s team also built Snap’s Camera capabilities, architected the end-to-end media delivery, and also oversaw Snap’s growth during a period of rapid expansion for one of the most popular social media apps in the world.

Before Snap, Farnaz spent 10 years at Google working in various roles in the search giant’s advertising teams. She held integral roles revamping the way brand advertisers use metrics to manage digital advertising campaigns. She also led Google’s brand safety and content policy enforcement, ensuring brand safety for online ad campaigns across all Google platforms.

In addition to her two decades of deep technology experience, Farnaz is also an active member of her community, volunteering for various arts organizations. Most notably, she held a board advisory role at LACMA’s (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) Art + Technology Lab, focused on bringing artists and leading innovators and technologists across a variety of industries together to bring art to life, heavily utilizing technology as a vessel.

Farnaz lives in Venice, California with her husband and will be focusing on building out our engineering team in the States, Australia and beyond.

Sam Rogoway, Chief Product Officer

Sam Rogoway

Sam has spent the past 15 years at the intersection of content and technology. He is a proven product leader with deep roots in consumer tech and the creator economy. Sam recently served as the Chief Product and Content Officer at Headspace, where he was responsible for Headspace products and content on all platforms and devices. This included leading the overarching global product and content strategy, scaling Headspace’s direct-to-consumer and B2B enterprise offerings, and overseeing growth and biz dev during a time of massive growth for the company. In addition, Sam founded Headspace Studios, an award winning multi-platform content studio that he formed within Headspace, that successfully expanded product touch points beyond the Headspace app and engendered significant subscriber growth.

Sam has also founded and successfully sold multiple technology companies. In fact, he joined Headspace when the company acquired Victorious — a fan engagement platform for creators, which he founded and led as CEO and Head of Product. Sam also founded TripUp, a travel social network acquired by Sidestep/KAYAK.

Sam lives in Los Angeles, California with his wife and daughter. He currently serves on the board of directors of Young Storytellers, a nonprofit organization that sparks creative self-discovery through storytelling. Sam will continue to be based out of Los Angeles and is focused on building out the product org in the States and beyond.

Monica Austin, Chief Marketing Officer

Monica Austin

Monica joins Linktree from Calm, the #1 mindfulness app in the world, where she served for the last two years as Global Head of Marketing & Communications. During her time at Calm, Monica led all marketing efforts during a period of meteoric growth, in which the app saw downloads double during the early days of the pandemic. In her tenure, Monica reimagined Calm’s content promotion and brand, as well as overseeing all social, editorial, communications and publicity for the app.

Prior to her time at Calm, Monica spent four years leading global creative marketing for original series at Netflix. During this time, Monica drove the development and execution of creative marketing campaigns for 100+ original titles per year, including award-winning original programming like The Crown, Stranger Things and Orange is the New Black. Additionally, Monica developed and launched Netflix’s editorial strategy, starting with Netflix’s first sub-brand Netflix is a Joke, scaling Netflix social platforms to millions of followers and becoming the largest media community online.

Before Netflix, Monica led strategic entertainment partnerships at Meta, bringing some of the most notable entertainment players to the platform, supporting Instagram, Oculus and Messenger’s new product launches. She’s also held senior marketing and business development positions at some of the biggest production companies in the industry, including the Endemol Shine Group, Super!Alright! and ITV. Monica is a decorated marketing leader and has been named to the Forbes 30 Under 30, AdAge’s 40 Under 40 and Business Insider’s CMOs to Watch lists.

Monica lives in Oahu, Hawaii with her wife and two young children. She will continue to be based in Hawaii and is focused on building out the marketing org in the States and around the world.

I know Farnaz, Sam and Monica will each have a massive impact on our growth, product, Linkers, and how we realize the Linktree Vision: to empower anyone to curate and grow their digital universe. I’m honored to be able to work with and learn from them and I can’t wait to get stuck in!
